Courtney Pine is a Jazz musician. He travels the world, playing to thousands of people with his band.
Courtney has been given awards to recognise his achievements; an OBE from The Queen and a Doctorate from the University of Westminster in London - so, officially, he is Dr Courtney Pine OBE.
Courtney learned to play saxophone at school. He started with the clarinet and played in youth music groups before setting up his own band and making his first record twenty years ago.
Since then he has made nine albums and still practises hard every day. Learning a musical instrument is an exciting journey of discovery...you never know where it will lead!
