During the mid 1980s, Maxi Jazz attracted attention and respect as the DJ with The Soul Food Cafe Sound System.

Keen to develop his own music, he formed The Soul Food Café Band.

Currently, he works alongside Rollo and Sister Bliss as a member of Faithless.
