Roach is the drummer in the school band.
Max Roach is one of the all-time great jazz drummers. He is famous for his amazing co-ordination and fantastic technique.
Max helped to develop new jazz styles over his long musical career.
He performed with Dizzy Gillespie in the first bebop recording and pioneered cool jazz with Miles Davis.
