Moving Numbers

Mr Bechet
Mr Bechet

Jazz Daze tells how Courtney gets to play his first solo in the school band.

The story begins during a maths lesson. Mr Bechet, the teacher, is writing on the board. But Courtney just doesn't understand where the numbers are going. Then music begins to play, and Courtney gets into a groove.

As if by magic, the numbers come together and make sense!

Teacher Notes

The music Courtney hears is in Groove form. A Groove is a repeating rhythmic phrase or pattern, usually played across one or two chords.

Note the repeated bass line, adding to the feeling of being 'stuck in a groove'.
